November 2012, Pickering, Ontario – In an independent recognition of its commitment to quality management, design and manufacturing firm Eco-Tec Inc. completed its reassessment for International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification. The company achieved BS EN ISO 9001:2008 for ‘Design, Build, Commission and Service of Chemical Treatment Equipment,’ through independent auditing firm CCAS (Chamber Certification Assessment Services Ltd.).
ISO recertification – along with its recent American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) certification for ‘Manufacture of Pressure Vessels’ – reflects the company’s ongoing pledge to its clients for quality and consistency in its processes, says Dr. Phillip (Rocky) Simmons, Eco-Tec President and CEO.
“Eco-Tec continues to excel in our quest for excellence. The ISO 9001 Certification is a testament to our team’s dedication to quality for our valued clients.”
ISO 9001 is one of a series of three international standards dealing with quality systems. It is a model for quality control in design/development, manufacturing, testing, installation and servicing. It is the most comprehensive level of registration in the internationally recognized ISO 9000 family for quality system management.
Since its establishment in 1947, ISO has published over 19,000 International Standards covering almost all aspects of technology and manufacturing. ISO currently has members from 164 countries and 3,335 technical bodies to take care of standard development.
